How do you feel about “networking” events? Am I the only one who goes mainly for the food? Any good “networking” anecdotes?

Breaking Moulds 
As long as no one asks me to talk or look at them or get me introduced which I would not remember anyway, I am happy at any meeting/party/get togther ,networking or not.
Hate networking meeting!
I like networking events… but then, I generally like meeting people for no good reason at all. And I like the food and the bar of infinite diet cokes.
But I’m stingy with my cards. Most people get a “Yep, you can look it up. Real easy to find.” 🙂
I’m not surprised you’d like them! And I don’t mind them, I guess I just dislike the perceived pressure and expectations that go along with them.
I do like seeing different business cards, probably more out of curiosity on how they’re designed than for the actual cards themselves. I bet yours is cool and involves dinosaurs! There are so many interesting styles these days! Unfortunately most people I’ve met in Ottawa stick with the boring traditionals.
