Greetings honoured email sender,
I’m “out of office” for the next week and a half and may be slower than usual replying to your email. Actually, unless someone is going to die on the operating table without a response from me, I probably won’t respond at all until after this time. (By the way if someone is at risk of dying on the operating table, I recommend calling for a doctor and/or nurse immediately as I am neither and would not likely be much help in this scenario.)
I realize that in today’s hyper-connected society it is often expected that one will reply swiftly even when “out of office,” since we all have constant access to the Internet and emails via our multiple devices outside of the archaic office environment. However I ask that you please kindly refrain from follow-up emails because it will only make my task take longer when I do attempt to reply to yours and everyone else’s original email.
I would appreciate your understanding as I’m only a human and am trying to be present during this “out of office” time, rather than letting the demands of a 24-7 world dictate every moment of my day. Furthermore I’m happy to extend the same understanding should you find yourself wishing to be truly, disconnected-ly “out of office.”
Authentically, Janelle
